NCP slams Chavan for saying Maharashtra Home Minister should be from Congress
Mumbai: A political battle has broken out in Maharashtra at a time when the state is still trying to recover from Wednesday's serial blasts in Mumbai. The NCP has slammed Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan's statement that ideally, Maharashtra Home Minister should be from Congress and not from its coalition partner NCP.

NEW DELHI: The Union government on Thursday decided to move Supreme Court seeking total recall of its stinging judgment taking over the probe into black money while accusing the government of probing the sensitive economic issue laggardly.
3 LeT militants, jawan killed in J&K encounter
SRINAGAR: Three terrorists and an Army jawan were killed in a gun battle in Kupwara, north Kashmir, on Friday. The terrorists, said to belong to Lashkar-e-Taiba, were holed up in a house at a village in Lolab, about 120 km from Srinagar, officials said.
Four security personnel were also injured in the encounter that began early morning when troops cordoned off a house in Dar Mohalla village.
According defence spokesman J S Brar, security forces comprising soldiers from Rashtriya Rifles and the state police had specific information about the presence of foreign terrorists in the house.
The hiding terrorists took a woman as hostage and opened fire on the forces when they were asked to surrender, defence spokesman Brar said.
Obama to meet Dalai Lama, risks upsetting China
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama will speak with the Dalai Lama about Tibet in their first meeting in more than a year on Saturday, the White House said.
Obama's face time with the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader stands to upset China, which is already on edge about the Dalai Lama's meetings with congressional leaders and the potential for a U.S. debt default.
