US charges pair over links to Pakistan spy agency



Two US men have been charged in the US with operating an illegal front group for the Pakistani government.
The two used at least $4m (£2.5m) in Pakistani funds in a bid to influence the US position on the disputed territory of Kashmir, prosecutors said.

Fai: 'Brylcreem' and '30 plus' codes for money transfers


Brylcreem' and '30 plus' were some of the codes used for monetary transactions between Pakistan's snooping agency ISI and Kashmiri propogandist Syed Ghulam Nabi Fai, who was arrested by the FBI recently here.

Obama, Lawmakers Search for Compromise on Debt Ceiling



U.S. President Barack Obama and members of Congress continue the search Thursday for a compromise on how to raise the country's debt limit, as an August 2 deadline approaches to avoid a potentially catstrophic default.

Obama says he is not giving up hope for what he calls a "grand bargain" to raise the country's borrowing limit while slashing government deficits. But the president also indicated he may be open to an interim deal to raise the debt ceiling.

So after jihadist-watchers this week noted that an extremist had posted a cartoon he was creating to inspire children to join the cause of al-Qaeda’s affiliate in Yemen, the reaction was swift.
The cartoon was posted by a jihadist using the nom de guerre Abu al-Laith al-Yemeni, and it showed young boys firing RPGs and other weaponry, reveling in the joys of terorrist activity.

China, ASEAN set "guidelines" on sea row, but no deal expected



(Reuters) - China and Southeast Asian countries agreed on Wednesday to a preliminary set of guidelines in the South China Sea dispute, a tiny but rare sign of cooperation in a row that has plagued relations in the region for years.
