Former US President, Mr George W. Bush, arrived in Mumbai on Monday for a two-day low-key private visit. Mr Bush addressed luncheon and dinner meetings at Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai for ICICI Lombard General Insurance.
Sources said that Mr Bush's visit to India was facilitated by the promoters of Lombard, Canada-based Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd, a diversified financial services company engaged in general insurance and reinsurance.
The media was denied an opportunity to interact with the former President.
A spokesperson for ICICI Lombard confirmed that Mr Bush will be delivering a business lecture. “The event is spread over two sessions. The afternoon session was hosted by ICICI Lombard, while the evening session will be hosted by Fairfax holdings,” she added.
The spokesperson refused to divulge details of the invitee list. The event has been kept highly confidential for security reasons.
