PM Manmohan eyes N-deal in Russia trip despite TN stir

The first two reactors of the Kudankulam nuclear power project may not be commissioned, as scheduled, before the PM's three-day visit to Russia beginning December 15 in the face of public protests, but the two countries are holding intense negotiations to sign contracts for the third and fourth reactors at the site during Manmohan Singh's trip.

2G: SC to hear Chandolia's plea against HC today

New Delhi: Supreme Court will on Thursday hear RK Chandolia's case of cancellation of his bail plea by the Delhi High Court. On Wednesday, the Apex court had put a stay on Delhi High Court's proceedings for cancellation of bail granted to RK Chandolia, accused in the 2G scam.
Chandolia, who was out of Tihar Jail on December 1, has challenged Delhi High Court's suo-motu decision to put a stay on the grant of bail by the special CBI court.
The high court order will be on hold till Chandolia's plea is decided by a bench headed by Justice GS Singhvi.

The bench had on December 5 told Chandolia's counsel that it was not sure whether the appeal fell within the ambit of sphere of work allocated to it under the rules for business of the apex court.
