Manmohan Singh "got spoiled" in Congress company: Modi












Ahmedabad:  Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had got "spoiled" in the company of the Congress.

"Congress party had become a burden for our country. It has rotted, which is now visible in its public image," Modi said at a public gathering at Vastral on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.

But when he called back on the number to claim his reward, Hemant sensed some foul play and discovered that it was a fraud.

Police say toll plaza murder solved; suspected killer arrested














Gurgaon:  Police say they have solved the murder of 22-year-old Gurgaon toll booth attendant Umesh Kumar Pandey, with the arrest of two men early on Monday morning. 
 
CCTV footage led to the arrest of the suspected killer, Vijayvir, and his friend, Manjit; the police claimed that the two men had confessed to killing Pandey.

Rahul Gandhi in Srinagar today, will meet students












Srinagar:  Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi began his two-day tour to Jammu and Kashmir today to mobilise the state's youth to join the Congress. 

As part of the drive, Rahul will interact with students of Kashmir University in Srinagar to strengthen the ongoing membership drive of the party's youth wing, Indian Youth Congress, which is expected to have elected representatives in a few months, sources said.

New Delhi:  Nearly four years after getting complaints, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will start a formal probe into allegations that over 300 telephone lines were allotted to the residence of Dayanidhi Maran in Chennai and illegally linked with a television channel owned by his brother.

Tension at POSCO site, 20 injured












Bhubaneswar:  In Orissa, at least 20 anti-POSCO protestors were injured as they were attacked by 200 lathi-wielding men near the proposed steel plant's site in Orissa.
