New Delhi: As the stand-off between the government and Anna Hazare continues, we asked our surfers whether they agreed with Anna's fast. Here are the top ten comments:
Rick: What Anna has done is not make a mockery of the constitution but make us realize what a true democratic nation can unite and do. The Preamble of our constitution starts by "We the people...." and it looks like that now.
Vijay: No. I do not support his fast or methods. Lokpal bill will not irradicate corruption. Sensible economics, IT will. Nobody bribes for a railway ticket o airline ticket today.
Shiva Sundar: Isn't it a strange quirk of fate that the protest venue has moved to Tihar jail which holds three of independent India's biggest scamsters. It is fair that the protest against corruption is happening outside Tihar jail.
Divya Panchami: I know why the political parties are against Anna's movement because then there will no space in jails to accommodate all the ministers, I don't think that's a big issue. At least we can have people like Anna to rule India which really needs change now.
Vishal: It is we the people of India who have to blame ourselves for whatever corruption is happening in our country as it is we the people who have been electing the same govt for 50 yrs and not giving chance to any other political party.
