Imphal: Medha Patkar has been detained in Imphal during a protest against Armed Forces Special Powers Act.
Patkar, and other activists were on a 10-day march from Srinagar to Manipur demanding revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA).
The march, which began on October 17, has been named after 53-year-old Irom Sharmila who has been on an indefinite fast for almost eleven years, demanding the repeal of AFSPA that activists claim gives extra-judicial powers to the armed forces.
