New Delhi: The beheaded body of a 26-year-old man, missing from his home in New Delhi for more than a week, has been found in Haryana's Rewari district, police said on Sunday.
Srikant Singh, an insurance advisor for a healthcare company, was missing since July 29 after he left his home at Moti Bagh in South Delhi, police said.
Srikant's father Seespal Singh complained to the police that his son left in his I-10 car, saying that he will return in half an hour, but never returned.
"We registered a kidnapping case after 24 hours of his missing complaint," said a senior police officer.
However, it was only on Saturday that police of Rewari district informed Delhi Police that a beheaded body wrapped in a bed sheet, with the cut-off head near it, was lying in Kasola village and identified it as Srikant's.
"The mobile phone was lying 10 feet away from the dead body but there was no indication of his car," said the officer.
Police said that they are looking into every angle, and are also trying to trace the missing car.
