HYDERABAD: TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao on Monday appealed to MLAs of all parties to submit their resignations again. He said this is the only way to achieve Telangana by putting pressure on the Centre.
He was speaking at the dharna camp of Gandhi hospital doctors organised in support of the employees proposed general strike.
Coming down heavily on chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for his adamant attitude to conduct SI examinations, Rao wanted him to shed his arrogance.
Chandrasekhara Rao also found fault with Union home minister P Chidambaram’s remarks for a consensus among people of the state on Telangana.
He pointed out that injustice was done to T region even in filling of doctors’ posts. Most of the posts in government hospitals in Telangana region were filled with Seemandhra doctors, he said.
Disputing with Chidambaram’s statement that Congress did not take any decision on Telangana, senior Congress leader Keshava Rao wanted the home minister to read the CWC resolution adopted in 2001, which favoured smaller states including Telangana.
Speaking on the occasion suspended TD MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy said that there was no need to elicit opinions of people of other regions.
The opinion of Telangana people were enough to divide the state, he said.
However, superintendent of Gandhi Hospital VT Prasad said, “The staff members were away only for a short duration. They discharged their duties as on a normal day and attendance was the same as any other day. Work was not effected due to the dharna.’’
