Chidambaram in Gangtok to visit quake victims

Gangtok:  Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram is in Gangtok today to review the damages caused by the 6.9 magnitude earthquake that hit northeast India, Tibet and Nepal on Sunday, claiming hundreds of lives.  Chidambaram will visit quake victims at the hospitals.

Rescue efforts have been hampered by heavy rain and mudslides that blocked the roads leading to villages in the remote, mountainous region.
