Bangalore: A doctor and his 14-year-old son allegedly committed suicide by consuming insecticide in a private resort in Ramnagar district, police said on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Manjo (43), a physician and Harshit, were found in their room on Tuesday in the resort in Bidadi after Manjo's wife alerted the resort staff that her telephone calls to her husband had gone unanswered, police said.
Manjo and Harshit had checked into the resort on Sunday, they said.
Police said that the medic was in heavy debt, and this could have been the reason for him to take the extreme step.
Following the discovery of the bodies, the wife also allegedly tried to commit suicide by consuming sleeping pills but she was rescued and admitted to hospital, the cops added.
