Bilateral relations: Delegation leaves for India


ISLAMABAD: A 20-member parliamentary delegation left for India on Wednesday to participate in the second round of the Pakistan-India Parliamentarians’ Dialogue facilitated by the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development And Transparency (Pildat).


According to a Pildat official, the two-day dialogue is to be held on August 18-19 in New Delhi. The official said the parliamentarians will carry forward the discourse on issues highlighted in the first round of dialogues held in Islamabad early this year including Kashmir, terrorism, strengthening people-to-people contacts, a liberal visa regime, water, the role of media and removing trust deficit.
Deputy Chairman of Senate Jan Mohammad Khan Jamali and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi will co-lead the Pakistan delegation while seasoned members of parliament, Senator SM Zafar from Pakistan and former Union Minister for External Affairs Yashwant Sinha from India will be co-chairing the second round.
