Apple is world's most valuable company

Apple has surpassed Exxon as the world's most valuable company in terms of market cap. As the markets opened on Tuesday morning in the United States, Apple's market cap $341.53 billion while Exxon trailed with a market cap of $341.51 billion.

Last week both Apple and Exxon saw rapid dips in their stock values but luckily for Apple the dip was not a major one, but Exxon was not so lucky as the company grappled with lowered oil costs.

Of late the stock market in the United States has been unstable with many fearing another recession, but looks like the instability of the stock market has no bearing on Apple's market cap.
