Rs. 26 cr for Mayawati's security, Rs. 20 cr for her bungalows' maintenance

Lucknow:  In a supplementary budget tabled in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly today, a whopping 26 crore rupees have been allocated for providing security to Chief Minister Mayawati. The money, sources say, will be used to buy Ambassador cars and ten jammer vehicles.

Another 20 crore rupees have been earmarked for the upkeep of two state government bungalows allotted to the Chief Minister in Lucknow.

In addition to this, 41 crore rupees have been allocated for the Kanshi Ram Eco park in Lucknow. Just last week, a Comptroller and Auditor General's (CAG) report had slammed the Bahujan Samajwadi Party chief for wasting more than 66 crore rupees in building her pet projects - the BR Ambedkar and the Kanshi Ram memorial in Lucknow. The government's auditor had said this expenditure was "avoidable."

One fourth of the state's supplementary budget has been allocated for pro-dalit schemes
