Rural development minister Jairam Ramesh is doing all he can to introduce the Land Acquisition Bill before the parliament session ends on the September 8.
Sources tell CNBC-TV18 that the final draft of the Bill was sent to the cabinet ministers on August 31 and the Cabinet is likely to take it up at its next meeting, tentatively slated for Monday.
Ramesh also personally met nine ministers of the Cabinet this week to push the Bill through.
The Bill is expected to be referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee after being tabled.
