New Delhi, July 25: An online CBSE result depository will be activated tomorrow for anyone wanting to check the authenticity of a candidate’s mark sheet and certificate.
Students and employers need to go to http://www.ndml.in. The user, who has to be registered with the board, then has to type the roll number of the CBSE student and the password to get access to the mark sheet and certificate.
The government feels the step will help in curbing mark sheet forgery.
CBSE, which is India’s largest school education board, took the step in collaboration with the National Securities Depository Limited and the Central Depository Services (India) Limited. The depository will have certificates of the Class XII examination results as well as the Central Teacher Eligibility Test.
“Students who have passed Class XII or CTET will be able to download their certificates from the depository. Employers can verify the hard copy of the certificates with the website,” board chairman Vineet Joshi said.
“At present, higher-education institutions send the hard copies of the certificates to us to authenticate. Now they can do it on their own by checking from the depository,” Joshi said. But the institutes, like the employers, will have to be registered with the CBSE.
The CBSE’s move will help the human resource development ministry to set up an independent agency that will be tasked to maintain an online database of certificates of all boards and universities.
