Chennai: Senior police officers and bureaucrats in Chennai were today raided by officials in charge of tackling corruption.
The raids were carried out in connection with sale and misappropriation of plots allotted under the government discretionary quota.
The raids included the home of Jaffar Sait, who was the Intelligence Chief when the DMK was in power. Jaffar is currently serving as Special officer of the Lankan refugee camp at Mandapam.
Raids were also conducted at the residence of Rajamanickam, secretary to former chief minister Karunanidhi. Residences of Karunanidhi's security officers Pandian, Vinothan and Ganesan are also under the scanner.
The raids were carried out by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC).
