Five washed away in Indore flood


A family picnic turned into tragedy when three members washed away in flash flood.
The incident took place when five members of a family to Patalpani in Indore for picnic. All of them struck into the flash flood caused by heavy spell of rain and washed away. However, two of them rescued alive while three others drowned.

 One body was fished out by the firefighters while search is on for two others.
The victims are identified as Nanuram (25) of Badnawar, Anishq (18) Chavi (22), Chandrashekhar Rathi (55) and Mudita Rathi (22) of Harda. Nanuram of Badnawar and Anishq were rescued alive.
The body of Chavi (22), daughter of Purshottam Dhoot and a resident of Aggrawal Nagar was fished out.
Three persons of a family drowned at a waterfall in Patalpani near Indore on Sunday afternoon, police said. According to police, five members of a family were bathing under the waterfall when they were swept away due to heavy rains. While two of them swam to safety, the other three drowned, PS Maravi, in-charge Bargauda police station told PTI.
While the body of Chhavi (22) has been recovered, efforts are on to trace the bodies of the other two victims identified as Chandrasekhar Rathi (51), and Modika Rathi (22), he said.
Further investigations are on.
