Glasgow: 
Blackburn Rovers are close to signing Dundee United striker David Goodwillie after the two clubs agreed a transfer fee on Sunday.
Goodwillie was left out of the squad to face Hearts in the Scottish Premier League on Sunday as Rovers made their move and United boss Peter Houston expects the 22-year-old to complete his switch to Ewood Park.
It is thought Scottish champions Rangers also made a fresh offer for Goodwillie after having earlier bids rejected, but they could not match the package on the table from the English Premier League club.
Rovers are believed to have offered an inital fee of £2 million ($3.2 million), with a further £800,000 to be paid in add-ons dependent on Goodwillie's success.
Houston told BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound programme: "It's no secret Blackburn are interested in him. The clubs have agreed a fee.
"David Goodwillie is likely to go if he can agree terms."
