A team of doctors from Medanta Medicity, GP Pant Hospital and the Tihar Jail hospital examined Anna Hazare on Thursday morning and declared that his condition is stable. The Central Government is worried about Hazare health as he is 74-year-old and has been fasting since Tuesday after being taken to Tihar Jail.
However, he will leave Tihar Jail on Friday because Ramlila Maidan where he will fast for 15 days for a strong anti-corruption legislation is not ready. Tihar Jail authorities confirmed that Hazare would not be leaving the prison on Thursday.
"I just spoke to Annaji, in view of conditions of Ramlila Maidan. Annaji will reach Ramlila Maidan tomorrow", said Arvind Kejriwal, a close aide of Anna Hazare.
Earlier, Kejriwal had said that a team of doctors led Dr Naresh Trehan has certified that Anna Hazare was doing fine.
"The MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) has to prepare the ground first and hand it over to us. Then we will prepare the stage, etc. Only when it is ready, Anna will leave Tihar. We have just spoken to Delhi Police Commissioner, he has assured me that a Deputy Commissioner will personally look at the arrangement at Ramlila Maidan," added Kejriwal.
MCD Standing Committee Chairman Subhash Arya said that they will hand over the ground to Team Anna by 2 PM on Thursday.
"We were told at approximately 10 AM that we needed to prepare the field. We will handover more than 50 per cent of the ground between 12-2pm. Rest of the ground will be made ready within the next 24 hours," said Arya.
The stand-off between Team Anna and Delhi Police come to an end late on Wednesday night following hectic consultations between the two sides over the proposed fast site and the duration of the protest.
Delhi Police gave the permission for a 15-day fast at Ramlila Maidan on Wednesday night after talks between Team Anna and Delhi Police Commissioner BK Gupta.
"None of the conditions which we had earlier opposed relating to the number of people to be allowed at the protest venue and parking of vehicles were included in the Delhi Police's permission for the 15-day fast by Anna, which is a very good and sensible sign," said former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and Hazare's aide Kiran Bedi.
Hazare supporters have said that their protests will only end after the Government agrees to a strong Lokpal bill in parliament.
"We are always open to discussions but the Government has to produce a strong bill in Parliament. The Government has to withdraw this bill (Lokpal Bill) and produce a strong bill. Ultimately it is for Parliament to make the law, but it has to listen to the people and this bill (Jan Lokpal Bill) is what people want," said senior lawyer and former law officer Shanti Bhushan.
Meanwhile, Hazare's supporters have started to gather at Ramlila Maidan in anticipation of his arrival. Police have made heavy security arrangements at the fast venue and are combing the ground with sniffer dogs and metal detectors to secure the area.
Meanwhile, Team Anna has given a two-page undertaking to police on its protest fast in Ramlila Maidan, saying they would abide by existing rules and regulations and the crowd will not exceed the capacity of the ground, which is around 25,000 people.
In the undertaking signed by Anna Hazare himself and his associates - Arvind Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan, Kiran Bedi and Shanti Bhushan, they also said that if any clause of it was violated, they would be liable to be prosecuted under law.
