BJP to feel heat, police to interrogate ex-party worker Hindustani

Two days after they made their first arrest in the three-year-old cash-for-votes scandal, the Delhi Police, on Tuesday, issued a notice to former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker Suhail Hindustani to join investigations. Sources in the Delhi Police Crime Branch, which is probing the matter , said Hindustani was likely to get arrested soon after being questioned on Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, investigators are understood to be seeking the union home ministry's directions before they question Amar Singh and Ashok Argal, both sitting Members of Parliament, (MPs) in the case.
"While a letter had been sent to the Home Ministry a couple of days ago, seeking its views and directions on questioning Singh and Argal, Hindustani is likely to be arrested tomorrow," said a senior Delhi Police officer requesting anonymity.
Hindustani is an alleged conduit between Singh and the three BJP MPs who had waved wads of money on the floor of the Parliament with impunity during the 2008 trust vote.
The development comes two days after Sanjeev Saxena, believed to have delivered the cash to the three MPs to vote in favour of UPA during trust vote, was arrested on Sunday.
