Kajal: SINGHAM is 'masala' at its best

SINGHAM is one of the quickest remakes to have been made in recent times. While the Tamil version had released last year with Suriya and Anushka as the lead couple, within a year the Hindi version is also ready. However one does wonder whether SINGHAM in Hindi is exactly the same as Tamil or have all-India sensibilities been kept in mind during the remake.

"We have made quite a few changes in here by keeping in mind the fact that it would be predominantly seen by audience that watches Hindi films regularly," Kajal admits, "So while Rohit has kept the basic story intact, he is cognizant of the fact that he can't present Tamil culture and flavor in his take on SINGHAM. He has not just changed the setting from Tamil Nadu to Maharashtra; he also brought some new twists and turns in the story that would take people by surprise."
While the Tamil version of SINGHAM was high on drama and action, there were some comedy sidetracks that seemed a rather unnecessary. Kajal promises though that it has been take care of in the Hindi version and there won't be anything ordinary that one would get to see.
"Yes, there is humor in the film but again it is very much the kind that one associates with a Rohit Shetty film. He had made a super hit trilogy like GOLMAAL so he certainly knows the drill," smiles Kajal, "As for action then well, wasn't it Ajay Devgn who started it all with PHOOL AUR KAANTE as many as two decades ago? These are the kind of personal touches that both these men have brought to SINGHAM. Moreover you will also see some high peaked emotional drama. Don't worry, you won't be disappointed. It is a 'masala' outing at its best."
Well, come 22nd July and we would know more about it once the film releases all over.
