Neeraj Grover murder case: Bombay High Court admits Emily Jerome's appeal

Mumbai:  The Bombay High Court has admitted the appeal of Emile Jerome Mathew against his conviction in the Neeraj Grover murder case.

Grover, a TV executive, was killed at Kannada actress Maria Susairaj's Mumbai suburb flat on May 7, 2008, by Mathew - Maria's former fiancé.

Neeraj's body was cut into pieces with a knife purchased for the purpose, transported to another suburb in gunny bags, where the corpse was set on fire. Maria and Jerome were arrested soon after.

Last month, Mathew was sentenced to 10 years in prison for killing Grover. And three years for destroying evidence. Maria was sentenced to a three years' imprisonment for destroying evidence. But she was released from Byculla jail in Mumbai a day later as she had already served this sentence during trial.

Ujjwal Nikam to fight Neeraj Grover case?

Neeraj Grover's parents met Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil in Mumbai yesterday. They have asked for Ujjwal Nikam to be appointed as public prosecutor in the murder case of their son. "Our meeting with Mr Patil was reassuring," Mr Grover told NDTV after the meeting.
