Erode: Three more DMK leaders have been arrested in Tamil Nadu on land grab charges.
With the arrest of Erode Mayor Kumar Murugesh, former DMK minister N K P Raja and Erode Deputy Secretary O C Vishwanathan, a total of six DMK leaders are in jail in land grab cases. The three have been accused of grabbing Rs. 2 crore worth property at Perundurai.
Three senior DMK leaders were arrested last week.
The AIADMK-led state government had formed a special cell to exclusively deal with land grabbing cases.
DMK chief M Karunanidhi has termed the arrests as 'vendetta politics.' But denying the charge, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said the special police cells were acting on "genuine" complaints by "affected" persons with no political link. (with PTI Inputs)
