Crossword Book Award 2010 Winners Announced


Indian literary excellence took centre stage at the 'Vodafone Crossword Book Awards 2010' here as the country's finest writers and books were honoured.
The function was held at the NCPA here last night, a release said.

Omair Ahmed for "Jimmy, The terrorist" and Anjali Joseph for "Saraswati Park" have jointly won the Crossword Book Award in the Indian Fiction category.

V S Ramachandran for "The Tell Tale Brain" won the award for Indian Non-Fiction; Ranjit Lal for "Faces in the Water" won the award for Children’s Writing; N S Madhavan and Rajesh Rajmohan for "Litanies of Dutch Battery" have won it in the Indian language Translation category, and Ashwin Sanghi for "Chanakya's Chant" has won the Popular Award.

'The Vodafone Crossword Popular Book Award', a unique initiative by Crossword and Vodafone which was introduced in 2005, offering readers the opportunity to vote (online) for their favourite book from the list of the short listed books across the Indian fiction and Indian non-fiction categories, was won by author Ashwin Sanghi for the book Chanakya's Chant.
