Bangalore: A woman fitness trainer from Bangalore tried to kill her boyfriend and his fiancee, by pouring petrol on them and setting them on fire over a love affair, police said today.
The incident took place in Wanavdi locality here today, they added.
The accused Anushree Kundra (30) set Nimesh Sinha (32) and his fiancee Juhi Prasad (24) ablaze, they said.
According to police, Nimesh and Anushree had a love affair, but as she belongs to a different community, his parents opposed the idea of their marriage.
Nimesh's parents got him engaged to Juhi, a girl from their community.
However, when Nimesh, Anushree and Juhi came together to talk about the issue at Nimesh's flat in Wanvadi, Anushree poured petrol over the duo, set them on fire and fled.
The victims were admitted to a local hospital. While Juhi has suffered 80 per cent burn injuries, Nimesh has escaped with minor injuries.
"We have sent our squad to the Bangalore and Delhi for the further investigation," a senior police officer said.
