Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) has sent a reminder to Bollywoodactor Shah Rukh Khan asking him to explain violations committed while constructing his Mannat Bunglow in Mumbai.
The reminder sent on September 13, under section 19 of Environment (Protection) act 1986 signed by secretary of MCZMA reads, "I am directed once again to request you to submit your say (statement) on the allegations in the notice by the complainant at the earliest, as you have not communicated your say...".
Activist Amit Maru had approached MCZMA saying that there were violations of CRZ (coastal regulation zone) in the construction of Mannat.
"We had said that land reservation was changed from an art gallery to residential premises and a seven storey building was constructed," said Maru.
Maru's advocate Y P Singh said that initially a notice was sent to Khan by MCZMA on March 12, 2009 asking him to submit all the permission regarding the construction of Mannat but he did not submit any.
Singh said that the MCZMA had also asked Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to enquire into the violations.
Shah Rukh Khan could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
