Ex-cricketer Atul Wassan beaten up for overtaking


Delhi:  In yet another incident of road rage and show of power, former Indian cricketer Atul Wassan was beaten up by around five people, reportedly attached to the security of the Haryana CM. Allegedly, the cricketer was beaten up because he tried to overtake the car of the accused.

The incident took place at the toll bridge of NH on Wednesday night. The victim, a Gurgaon resident, complained in this regard at the Vasant Kunj police station.

A police official said, "The area falls under the Gurgaon police jurisdiction. We have told Wassan to contact them." Wassan was on his way to home when he overtook the security personnel's car. He then stopped at the toll bridge. Meanwhile, the accused also appeared there and pulled Wassan outside.

"Wassan told cops that they then scolded him. When he objected, they beat him up and fled from the spot. Wassan was taken to the Safdarjung hospital for the medical examination," said the police.
