Somdev surrenders to Fish

Atlanta: India's Somdev Devvarman went down 4-6, 3-6 to top seed and defending champion Mardy Fish of the US in the men's singles quarterfinals of the Atlanta Tennis Championships.

Fish recovered from an early break of serve to take control of the match that lasted 52 minutes.

The American was leading 5-0 in the second set but fumbled on two match points against the Indian's serve. It took him three more games to finally to close the match.

"The weather was rough, I was too eager to get off the court," said Fish.

"I played one bad game and rushed a bit."

He now plays American teenager Ryan Harrison.
