Raja's aide hits out at Tata, Radia

New Delhi:  The spirited fight put up by former Telecom Minister A Raja, in which he named the PM, Chidambaram in his defence, has emboldened his ex-personal secretary, R K Chandolia, who in turn trained his guns on Ratan Tata and Niira Radia.

Mr Chandolia said: "The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) does not have the guts to touch Tata and Radia. If I have committed a crime, then Tata and Radia are equally responsible."

Mr Chandolia's counsel argued he just followed the orders of A. Raja. "It was Raja who took Niira Radia's help... and my client just followed the orders," said Mr Chandolia's counsel.

"Raja called Radia to get KTV on Tata Sky. Radia facilitated the deal with Tata. Radia and Achary, former additional personal secretary to Raja, had a phone conversation when Radia told him to convey to Raja that the KTV problem had been sorted out. I was only assisting the Minister. Can an assistant ask his Lord why he's made a certain decision? I was not concerned with whether the decision was right or wrong," said Mr Chandolia.

Mr Chandolia is lodged in Tihar jail along with Raja.
