The Comptroller and Auditor General's report, 'indicting' Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for allegedly doling out favours in a Commonwealth Games project, was tabled in Parliament on Friday amid growing Opposition chorus that Dikshit put in her papers immediately.
The full report, running into over 700 pages, has allegedly pointed out that Space Age, one of the disqualified firms bidding for street-lighting was “irregularly” declared qualified after it made a plea to the chief minister.
It also reportedly found overspending by the Delhi government and civic agencies to the tune of over Rs 100 crore over streetscaping and an excess expenditure of Rs 31.07 crore on street-lighting by MCD, NDMC and PWD.
BJP spokesperson Prakash Javdekar on Friday demanded her immediate resignation. “It is her moral duty to step down,” he said.
