Mumbai: Divya Salaskar, daughter of slain Mumbai Police officer Vijay Salaskar has been appointed as Assistant Commissioner, Sales Tax.
She has joined her Mazagaon office from today.
Inspector Salaskar was among the first causalities with ATS Chief Hemant Karkare and Additional Commissioner of Police Ashok Kamte during the terrorist attack of November 26, 2008 in Mumbai.
Divya recently got the government job, only after the intervention of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram.
He intervened in the matter after it was brought to his notice that the appointment of Salaskar's daughter had been hanging for quite some time.
