Hyderabad: The Anantpur Police in Andhra Pradesh has seized three sacks of money; it had currency notes in the denominations of 500 and 1000.
Police say the amount could be around Rs 3 crore but Mandal Revenue Officer and bank officials are still counting the money.
A lorry was caught on the Bellary en route to Anantapura via Guntakal. The driver, now is police custody, claims he was given the assignment to take the money from Bellary to Hyderabad.
The driver and lorry cleaner are being interrogated. Police suspect money seizure is linked to mining baron Janardhana Reddy and his brothers.
