The career graph of child stars is very unpredictable. After playing a dozen similar roles in films, TV and commercials, age kicks in, rendering them too old for the job. While very few manage to make the cut after growing up, a few like Urmila Matonkar and Aftab Shivdasani actually excel in their mature avatars as well.
But for now, child actor, Swini Khara is one who wants to cash-in optimally on her established nutty kid image. After films like ‘Cheeni Kum’, ‘Paathshala’, ‘Paa’, ‘Hari Puttar’ etc, she will now lend her voice in Nikhil Advani’s bilingual 3D animation film, ‘Delhi Safari’. Swini is the voice of Yuvi, a leopard cub who is naughty, cheerful and wants to protect his home.
Being Swini’s debut in an animated film, it ushered her into the world of animation, and so impressed is she with the wonders of technology that she has decided to study animation in near future. With a glint in her eyes, Swini says, “I had a great time dubbing for the movie. I saw the whole process of making sketches and most of all I had hilarious conversations with Boman uncle (Irani).” With unpredictable industry trends, opting for another vocation will surely add another feather on Swini’s cap. Way to go, kiddo!
