Delhi: Delhi Police claimed to have busted a high-profile flesh trade racket in the capital on Monday. As many as six Uzbek women were arrested and one of them is a belly dancer of national repute in her country.
After receiving a tip-off from Greater Kailash, Part-II, in south-east Delhi, the police constituted a raiding party and sent a decoy customer to the area. As soon as the deal was struck, the police team apprehended six women.
"During investigation, it was revealed that the Uzbek girls were on tourist visas, and worked for a pimp who was also from Uzbekistan. She had been operating in Delhi and nearby areas for the last three years. Reportedly, she had married an Indian national to get citizenship," said Ashok Chand, DCP, Crime and Railways.
The girls were residents of Greater Kailash-II, Safdarjung Enclave and Arjun Nagar. The first-floor residence in Greater Kailash-II had been taken on a monthly rent for Rs. 50,000, while the Safdarjung Enclave and Arjun Nagar residences cost Rs. 20,000 per month.
According to police, the woman kingpin trafficked girls from Uzbekistan to Delhi on a regular basis. She arranged for their transport, accommodation in the city and clients. She charged Rs. 30,000-35,000 for a night. She charged more for weekends and entertained clients only when they came to her with a trusted reference from a former client.
"The kingpin is absconding. Her registers in which she wrote all the details of transactions have been seized. Further investigation is in progress," said Chand.
This is the third racket to be busted in the Capital in the last one month. Earlier, Ashish and Nagma Khan, kingpins of two other high-profile flesh trade rackets, and many foreigners were apprehended.
