Andhra Bhawan employees protest against legislator's misbehavior

New Delhi, July 22 (ANI): Employees of the Andhra Pradesh Bhawan protested against the alleged high handedness of a legislator with a staff employee of the Bhawan, in New Delhi on Friday.
The legislator, Maheshwar Reddy, thrashed the receptionist over alleged denial of accommodation.
The employees demanded action against Reddy.

P. Kiran Kumar, a Special Officer of the Andhra Pradesh Information Centre, said Reddy misbehaved with the receptionist when there was a delay in giving him accommodation in the bhawan.
"In the morning one MLA (legislator) by the name of Mr. Maheshwar Reddy approached the reception for an accommodation. The accommodation was to be arranged in five minutes. He could not wait for sometime. He waited in the next room and after sometime occupied the room and telephoned the receptionist and started abusing him in unparliamentary way. We protested and even the second he made a phone call and abused him," he said.
Kumar also stated the officials of the Andhra Pradesh state government arrived on the scene and pacified the protestors.
"So all the employees had then taken a decision to go for the strike and after getting the assurance they have resumed their duties. And we have the confidence that the demands will be fulfilled," he said.
Along with the other officials, the Andhra Pradesh state's resident commissioner in New Delhi Rajat Bhargav came to the scene and pacified the crowd.
Bhargav also stated that the matter would be taken up with the higher authorities of the Andhra Pradesh sate government. (ANI)
