State-wide demo on land grab cases filed against DMK workers

Piqued over cases filed against DMK workers all over Tamil Nadu on charges of land grabbing, the party today decided to launch state-wide demonstrations in front of district police headquarters from August one.
The DMK General council meeting at Coimbatore on July 23 and 24 would decide on the next course of action on the issue, the party said.

Terming the action as “political vendetta”, DMK alleged in a release that the Jayalalithaa government was foisting cases against its workers.
Meanwhile, senior DMK leaders on Thursday called on Chief Secretary Debendranath Sarangi and presented a memorandum demanding that filing of cases be stopped.
Over 400 cases have been filed all over the State against DMK workers on the charge of land grabbing.
DMK patriach M Karunanidhi had accused ruling AIADMK of letting loose anarchy against opposition parties, especially his party workers by filing false cases.
