Bariatric Obesity Surgery Has Its Own Pros and Cons



Obesity has become a cause of concern for the entire world and now its solution has also got many eyes raised from researchers. Bariatric surgery for the obesity is thought to be the best method to treat fatness, but the bone of contention is that it might be give harmful effects during the surgery.


The latest study has publicized that the surgical treatment of obesity might play an important role in repairing mental and physical health. Although they have also admitted that these kinds of surgeries involves a lot of risk. And, non-surgical method is considered as by far the best way to lose those extra kilos.
The bariatric surgery procedure involves a period of at least six months in which the initial stage is to assist patient with weight reduction. In the process, it’s made sure that all methods are tested that could help to reduce weight. Patients’ diet is altered, and dieticians keep a tab on their weight. Body Mass Index (BMI) of obese people to undergo this surgery should be more than 40, and they must have attempted a medically supervised diet and exercise program.
There are three types of bariatric surgeries -- the laparoscopic band, the laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and the laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. All three of them have their pros and cons.
